Did Penn Badgley Do the Basketball Flip in Easy a

Jesse Metcalfe, fresh from 'Desperate Housewives' plays hottie John Tucker.

The teen comedyJohn Tucker Must Dienever made it toMean Girls-levels cult fame, but it's one of those high school movies that had an impact on Millennials .

Arielle Kebbel, Brittany Snow, Sophia Bush and Ashanti are look pretty excited to take down John Tucker.

And, wow, it's ten years old.

Though the title suggests theJTMD is a horror film; it's not. It's a movie about four scorned girls from disparate cliques obsessing over one guy with well-manicured eyebrows (Jesse Metcalfe's John Tucker), and planning to destroy his reputation and break his heart. You're starting to remember it, right?

A decade since the film premiered (on July 28, 2006), we're reminding you about ten things that happened in the sometimes funny, sometimes groan-worthy flick:

1. Kate (Brittany Snow) is "invisible."

Snow's character, Kate, claims that no one sees her. In fact, she spends much of the movie trying to tell classmates her name, with little luck. She spends another part of the movie unnecessarily narrating the story. This is hard for viewers to believe, considering Kate's striking beauty.

2. Jenny McCarthy is Kate's mom.

Yep, she's a hot mom. Many guys fall for Kate's mom, and then leave her to eat her feelings out of a tub of chocolate icing. She actually does give Kate good advice, however.

3. Taylor Kitsch makes a cameo.

In an early blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in the movie, a pre-Friday Night LightsKitsch makes an appearance as Kate's new neighbor. He brings over a brownie for Kate... and then falls for her mom, of course.

4. Penn Badgley is the "other Tucker."

Right before becoming beloved Dan Humphrey onGossip Girl, Badgley played the younger brother, Scott, to Metcalfe's John. He's also self-deprecating, saying that he's not "hot, buff or capable of inciting an all-girl smackdown" like his brother is.

5. Ashanti is a head cheerleader.

We still associate Ashanti, left, with that song 'Always on Time.'

Yep, that singer Ashanti. She and her headscarves play the head cheerleader, one of Tucker's exes. She constantly has her hand on her hip.

6. Sophia Bush wears 100% hemp bras.

Bush of One Tree Hillfame is another one of the women dumped by Tucker. As Kate describes her, "for whatever reason, being a vegan teen activist is usually code for easy." She winds up locating one of her discarded 100% hemp bras in John Tucker's trunk after spying on Kate, and, in a hot moment, teaching Kate how to kiss.

7. Scott Tucker gives an amazing description of a "deep" girl.

When the elder Tucker asks his younger brother for intel on Kate (who is scheming with the rest of the girls to break John Tucker's heart), the younger Tucker, who knows Kate from his chemistry lab, contends that Kate is too "deep" for John to handle. Here's why: She's into "old-school Elvis Costello, she listens to obscure podcasts, she reads Dave Eggers." So deep.

8. John Tucker has a bizarre reaction to estrogen pills.

To emasculate Tucker, Ashanti's Heather sneaks estrogen pills into Tucker's protein powder. As a result, Tucker has an emotional breakdown in the middle of a basketball game, saying ridiculous things, including, "Do my thighs look fat in these shorts? I'm anxious and bloated. My nipples hurt." It's a scene clearly meant for laughs, but it's almost offensive.

9. The basketball team wears ladies' thongs.

After Kate tricks John into getting caught wearing a woman's thong in a hotel (long story), he gets made fun of for his choice of lingerie. But it doesn't take John, star basketball player, long to convince his entire team that the "breezy" thongs are the perfect undergarments for dunking. What follows is a scene with a bunch guys at basketball practice with a G-strings hanging out. It's quite a sight.

10. The movie tried to make "operator" happen.

John Tucker is described by one crying waitress (who clearly hooked up with him) as a "total operator" when it comes to dating. Meaning? "He goes out with girls from different cliques (and) tells them his dad won't let him date during basketball season, so they'll have to keep it a secret." Unfortunately, after the movie, we never heard the word used in that context again.
